NASCAR HALL OF FAME

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA

Acted as liaison between City of Charlotte/Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority, exhibition design firm (Ralph Appelbaum Associates) and NASCAR for this new 38,000 square foot highly interactive visitor experience. The NASCAR Hall of Fame is a 130,000 square foot facility designed by Pei, Cobb, Freed Architects to honor NASCAR icons and create an enduring tribute to the drivers, crew members, team owners and others that have impacted the sport in the past, present and future.

 

Facilitated content development, artifact acquisition and budget analysis from Design Development until Fabrication phase. Assisted with procurement of fabrication, installation, media production, scriptwriting, value engineering and General Construction integration. Advised on operations, facility, staffing and policy/procedures for this emerging institution, which opened May 2010.

The client team associated with the NASCAR Hall of Fame was quite diverse, and for some period of time without direct museum design and operations experience and expertise.
